Last Year's Rallies
Show Jump and Dressage Rally
Dressage Rally is June 7, 2014 and Show Jump Rally is June 8, 2014 at Fox Valley Saddle Association in Hampshire, IL. They will both be qualifying rallies for Championships 2014. We are pleased to offer a schooling show in conjunction with both rallies. Please, please pass along the attached flyer for the schooling show! It will be a fun and safe environment for our friends and families to school their horses with a “R” Dressage Judge and a qualified Jump Judge as well as give them a chance to see what a rally is all about. Horsemasters are warmly welcomed to participate in the rallies or choose to school in the schooling show! Please forward info onto them as well.
Important rally info and championships information is contained in the NCPR 2014 Dressage Rally and Show Jump Rally Info Packet. Please read through the packet prior to going to the online registration. It will help you in the registration process.
NOTE: The closing date to register for these rallies is May 1 - please sign up! We need to get a proper count of team members so we can make teams, identify captains and stable managers, and assign rally trunks. Then, the kids can work together to prepare for rally.

Eventing Rally
June 19 -22, 2014
Eventing Rally is geared to our D3 and up members and is held in conjunction with FRVPC’s Horse Trials and CCI One Star Event.
Eventing Rally competitors will need to be concurrently entered in the Horse Trials. Go to the FRVPC Horse Trials website
Our NCPR members who rally will have no additional costs over their horse trial and stabling entry fees since NCPR pays for tack stalls and other rally expenses such as Horse Management judging. The only fees are for Stable Managers and for optional polo shirts (which have been very popular!) If your club pays for Stable Managers, then the competitor will only pay for any shirts ordered when they complete their rally entry. All other fees are paid with the horse trial entry. The DC’s should receive a copy of the individual entry so that they may begin to put teams together. If your club does not have a full team, members are welcome to enter to be placed on a scramble team. DC’s should fill out an additional team form for any scramble members. The closing date for Rally entries is before the Horse Trial closing date as we need that lead time in order to arrange for stabling for our rally group and to organize other aspects of the rally. However, because entries are limited for the horse trials, I highly recommend that everyone make their Horse Trial and Rally Entry as close to OPENING DATE as possible. That is May 7.
A note about D3’s and Eventing Rally: With the jumping height of the D3 now lower than the Beginner Novice height of the horse trials, we are asking for D3’s to get the permission of their DC and RS before entering. If D3’s already compete in recognized horse trials, they may enter at the level at which they are experienced, whatever that is, with permission, so contact me if you have members who would like to do so. Eventing Rally is a wonderful learning and team experience for all our kids (they do everything our CCI competitors do!) but due to the length of the rally and the level of independence the kids have, it would not be the recommended first rally for a very young D3. The information packet for our D Eventing Rally will be coming out very soon and that will offer terrific opportunities for the kids who are new to Eventing!
NOTE: The closing date to register for this rallly is May 24 - please sign up! The Horse Trials can only accommodate 250 total riders, so if you sign up after the opening date of May 7, and are not one of the first 250 competitors, you may not be able to participate in eventing rally. We need to get a proper count of team members so we can make teams, identify captains and stable managers, and assign rally trunks. Then, the kids can work together to prepare for rally.

Tetrathlon Rally
TET will be held on June 6th, just prior to Dressage Rally, based out of Fox Valley Saddle Association in Hampshire. This is our secondTetrathlon Rally and we are really excited to be able to offer a division for anyone who would like to give it a try as well as for any championship qualifiers. TET is a discipline that develops the well rounded athlete and allows the Pony Clubber to really understand what conditioning and cross training is all about, not just for the horse, but how it contributes to a better rider. But most of all, it is lots of fun for the kids! It involves four sports: Running, swimming, shooting, and riding. Visit the USPC Tetrathlon page for more information about rules.. (There you can also read about the former Pony Club Tetrathletes who competed in Pentathlon at the Olympics!) At TET Every member of a team can vie for individual awards in the phase or phases in which they excel. Best three overall scores contribute to the team’s overall and horse management placement.
Some notes: Teams can be mixed abilities and ages. Divisions are set up by age, but competitors can choose to ride down a level or two to match their ability, so divisions need not be intimidating to newer riders regardless of their age. There is a Wild Card Division as well-mix and match to suit abilities. TET allows for our youngest members to compete as well as our oldest and it might well be to everyone’s advantage to mix up those age groups on a team. The younger kids often earn higher scores, but will need the help of their teammates to handle tack room set up, etc. Horsemasters are invited to ride in their own division, participate for fun, and qualify for championships if they like!
NOTE: The closing date to register for this rally is June 15 - please sign up! We need a proper count of team members so we can make teams, identify captains and stable managers, and assign rally trunks. Then, the kids can work together to prepare for rally.
