US Pony Club has approved the use of medical bracelets for our members in lieu of a medical armband. This rule will make the USPC more in line with the rules of the US Eventing Association, so the medical bracelet can be worn at all USPC and USEA competitions. If you'd like to get a medical bracelet, please include the information required by both groups and you'll be set for the season.
Our new rule is printed below, along with the existing rule of the USEF, whose safety rules are followed by USEA. III. AMPLIFYING INSTRUCTIONS AND GUIDELINES: A. USPC requires that members participating in any USPC affiliated mounted or un-mounted activity, must wear either a Medical Armband or Medical Bracelet while participating in the activity. The member may choose which one to wear. 1. Medical Armbands must include a current completed copy of the individual's Medical Release. It must be worn on the upper arm. If the member has small arms, he/she may safety pin the armband to his/her upper sleeve. (Armbands are available for purchase from Shop Pony Club.) 2. Medical Bracelets must visibly list these five items on them: Name and Date of Birth, Contact Information, Known Allergies, Current Medications, and Existing Medical Conditions. More information is acceptable, but these five items are required to be on the bracelet. USEF rules - 3. MEDICAL CARDS/MEDICAL BRACELETS. An approved and completed medical card or medical bracelet is required any time while jumping. Medical cards must be enclosed in a transparent, waterproof carrier. Medical cards must be securely attached to the competitor’s upper arm on the outside of the competitor’s clothing. Medical bracelets must be visible on the competitor’s wrist. Medical cards must include any relevant medical history, injury (particularly to the head), drug allergies and current medication. If wearing a medical bracelet, any relevant medical history, injury (particularly to the head) drug allergies and current medication must be included in the online medical form of the bracelet’s vendor website. Athletes are responsible to record all injuries on the card or in the case of a medical bracelet, update their medical information online. Failure to wear one’s own medical card or bracelet shall be penalized by a fine of $100. (Payable to the Organizing Committee) Sign up for lessons on 11/30 at 1 pm. Doc and Crockett. Crockett is a sorrell quarter horse 16yr old and great for a beginner. He has done it all...team penning, polo, trail, ridden in quadrille at Landowners Polo Cup by a 12 year old FRVPC and has been thru mounted shooting. He direct and next reigns. Great bomb proof horse has been ridden in the 4th of July parade! Doc is a black 19 yr old quarter horse and has a little more speed and does both direct and neck rein. He was a great sorting horse and fancy as can be and would make a great dressage horse as well. We also played polo with him for a year and was coming on nice with good speed and rollbacks. He would be better for a rider with quiet hands as he is best controlled with your feet and little pressure. Call Andy Thorson 773-510-4417 for mor information. |
